Lo sport come apertura verso l’altro

“Sportly Togheter “ SPOT ERASMUS PLUS

Questi i partecipanti:

Sport as an openness to the other

Society today is characterized by profound social and cultural changes. If we add the pandemic in progress, we arrive at a complexity that is increasingly difficult to read and manage. In an increasingly complex world, with crossroads of ethnic groups, cultures, languages, now we add the loneliness and isolation and immobility imposed by the “pandemic” of the young but also of the not so young. Their fears and discomforts have become phenomena to be kept under observation.

The aim of bringing the values of sport to the fore in the formation of man and citizen arises from these social and cultural needs, so the SPOT project aims to create networks that can foster debate on sports issues inclusive and integrated, approached from different points of view.

In fact, there are many possibilities to combine sporting activity with issues of social interest, for the construction of the difficult process of “European citizenship”, to foster relations between people of different cultures and ethnic groups and social inclusion and dialogue between all diversity.

The “Sportly Togheter” SPOT Project defines the fusion of two areas of knowledge: sport and social inclusion. In addition to Italy with “La Macina-Terre Alte” as leader of the project, it involves four international realities in Croatia, Spain and Slovenia and in the last Meeteng via zoom on 30 March, a reality from Tanzania was also added, with further enrichment of the path just started.

During the meeting, the protagonists presented the activities of their associations, and then the various steps of the project were drawn up. These are the participants:

• Italy whit Cooperativa La Macina Terre Alte – Project leader
• Spain with the Bilbao Rugby University Association (UBR)
• Croatia with the Finswimming Team Komet Aquatic Sports association
• Slovenia with Academy “Rudi Hiti” Ice Hockey

In the meeting, albeit virtual but very participatory, the objectives and the definition dates of the first activities were highlighted, leaving those like me who participated as a “guest” at the Meeteng, a certain enthusiasm, the same one that is achieved when you do a any sporting activity and which unites as only sport can do. To transmit values such as “team solidarity”, “team spirit” and the “importance of participating”.

It can be said that at this meeting one of the fundamental steps of the project has already been achieved!
